How to convert PDF to PNG
- Tap Choose a PDF and pick the file.
- Leave Save as on PNG and choose a sharpness.
- To convert only some pages, type them, such as 1-3, 5. Leave the box empty for all.
- Press Convert to pictures, then save one picture or all of them as a ZIP.
Why PNG for PDF pages
Most PDF pages are text, lines and flat colour: reports, invoices, slides, forms, drawings. PNG stores that kind of content exactly, so letters have clean edges and thin lines stay thin. JPG, which is built for photographs, leaves a faint haze around every character.

For photo-heavy documents, PDF to JPG is the better choice.
Choosing the sharpness
- Screen (96 dpi) gives an A4 page about 794 × 1123 pixels. Enough for a preview or a chat message.
- Good (150 dpi) gives about 1240 × 1754 pixels. Comfortable to read and to zoom into a little.
- Print (300 dpi) gives about 2480 × 3508 pixels. Use it for printing, or when small type must stay legible.
Doubling the sharpness makes four times the pixels and a correspondingly larger file.
What the pictures are like
Each page becomes one PNG, named after the PDF with the page number added. Pages are drawn on a white background, as a PDF viewer shows them. The text in the picture is no longer text: it cannot be selected or searched. To keep it as words, use PDF to text or PDF to Word.

Password-protected PDFs can be converted if you know the password. To make the PNGs lighter, run them through compress PNG, which works very well on pages of text.
