Privacy policy
This policy explains what information is involved when you use Convert Ferry at convertferry.com, and what is not.
The short version
- Files you open in the converters are processed locally in your browser. The converters do not upload them to our servers.
- We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name or email unless you write to us.
- The site does not show advertising at present and sets no cookies of its own.
Files you convert
When you choose a video, picture, document, audio file or archive, your browser reads it from your device's storage. Converting, compressing, cutting and checking are carried out by code running in your browser, and the result is saved back to your device. The converters do not upload the files you select, or the results, to any server operated by us.
Numbers you type into the unit and time zone converters are likewise worked out in your browser and are not sent to us.
If you use your browser's Share button on a result, the file goes to the app you choose, under that app's own terms.
What is stored in your browser
- Your caption draft. The caption formatter keeps the text you type in your browser's local storage so it is still there when you return. It is not sent to us. Pressing Clear removes it.
- A copy of the site. Your browser may store the site's pages and scripts so they load faster and keep working without a connection.
You can delete both at any time by clearing site data for convertferry.com in your browser settings.
Cookies
Convert Ferry sets no cookies. If that changes, for example because advertising is added, this policy will be updated first.
Hosting and server logs
The pages of this site are delivered by a web hosting provider. Like every website, the host records basic technical details of each request: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure, and are kept for the period set by the host. We do not combine them with any other information to identify you.
Advertising
This site does not show advertising at present, and no advertising scripts or cookies are loaded.
We may add advertising from Google AdSense in future to pay for the site. If we do, this policy will be updated before ads appear, to describe the cookies involved and the choices you have, including a consent message for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
Other third-party services
Apart from the hosting provider described above, the site loads nothing from other companies. Fonts, scripts and the converters themselves are served from convertferry.com.
Analytics
We do not run analytics or tracking scripts of our own on this site.
Emails you send us
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it to reply and do not add you to any list.
How long information is kept
Emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your message and any follow-up, and then deleted. Hosting logs are kept by the host for its own retention period. Nothing else is held by us, because the files you convert are not sent to us.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. Since we hold almost none, the most useful controls are the ones above: clearing site data in your browser. For any request, write to contact@sjwebtechwork.com.
Changes to this policy
If the way the site handles information changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
